KrakenFlex is a UK-based software energy platform worth over $2 billion. Its mission is “creating a new energy system for a better world”. The company provides an adaptable SaaS solution as a bridge between distributed energy resources. Founded in 2014, it was originally named as Upside Energy. In 2020, it became part of Octopus Energy Company and changed its name to KrakenFlex.
There are ~50 people working at KrakenFlex. Three cross-functional product teams, each with 5 to 9 team members, consist of a mix of developers, data scientists and soon-to-be-hired QAs. Each of these teams are led by a Product Owner and a Team Lead.
